Employee Spotlight – Meet Keenan
We’re shining our employee spotlight on Keenan Page, our Independent Living Manager at OHB, who has been with us for seven years.
Tell us about your work here at OHB. What’s a typical day like for you?
I help young adults and staff working with young adults rise above the barriers of the present and plan for the future. Whether it’s learning skills that will help one live on their own, resources to help those most in need, or planning out one’s educational, employment or housing future – we are here for young adults ages 14-26.
There are many nonprofits in Omaha, why do you choose to serve here at OHB?
OHB is not afraid to be different. Year after year we try new things and that is all part of the evolution we do alongside the society we aim to improve. We are able to adapt to what is needed out there and that means so many different people dealing with unique issues can call OHB home. I think that is pretty cool.
What is your favorite place on campus? Why?
Youth Mart. It is an outstanding example of a grassroots idea that turned into a household name. There are literally dozens of agencies, communities, people, etc. that come together to make it all happen. It is the UN of metro area IL workers and is a place young adults get direct, physical supports that not only add to their material wealth but their sense of home.
