OHB Receives Best of Aquatics Award

Megan from All-Inclusive Aquatics accepting the award on behalf of OHB.

A few months ago we were encouraged by Face-Up First Swimming to apply for a “Best of Aquatics” award sponsored by Aquatics International, and we are honored to share that we won in their programming category!

Face-Up First Swimming has been using our OHB indoor pool, located on our main campus, for a couple of years and offers swim lessons, artistic swimming, and water safety education. Another one of our partners, All-Inclusive Aquatics, traveled to Colorado Springs to accept the award on our behalf.

Here is what Megan from All-Inclusive Aquatics, had to share about their partnership with OHB:

The biggest barrier All-Inclusive Aquatics faces is finding space to accommodate our swim lessons, which makes OHB special. People living on campus don’t regularly use the pool so Omaha Home for Boys could close it without having a drastic impact on their immediate community. But they don’t.

They open their doors to community partners, like us. At least 5 other programs use the pool regularly for lifeguard training, swim team practice and even artistic swimming.

Facilities like Omaha Home for Boys make a difference. This award was well deserved and we are so very honored to have accepted it on their behalf.

The following article was written by and published in the Aquatics International magazine and further explores OHB’s role in expanding access to swimming opportunities in North Omaha: Omaha Home for Boys Named Best of Aquatics for Programming – Aquatics International

In 2025, we opened our campus to a record 53 community partners, providing vital spaces for learning, athletics, and collaboration directly benefiting an incredible 10,066 individuals.
