Home Welcomes First Calf of 2015

Cooper.Farm.4-H.sign.2The Omaha Home for Boys welcomed our first calf of 2015 today at Cooper Memorial Farm —a bouncing baby bull. Mother and baby are reportedly doing just fine.

The Home’s Valley View 4-H program has been a staple at Cooper Memorial Farm since 1948 and continues strong today.

Several of the youth who reside on our Inspiration Hill Residential Care campus at 52nd and Ames Streets work at the farm during the summer and raise and show cattle each year at fairs and competitions throughout the state.

The club, one of the oldest in the area, is an extension of the Home’s longtime connection between our youth and agriculture.

You can support the 4-H program in many ways. Learn more about our Gift of Grain program for more information.
