Employee Spotlight – Meet Kevin

Tell us about your work here at OHB. What’s a typical day like for you?
I work with our residential youth in the school. Our goal in the school is to help the students earn credits towards their graduation and help them see the light at the end of the tunnel for those who may have come to us with low credits..
What do you enjoy most about working at OHB? What keeps you motivated?
I enjoy what each and every day brings. No two days are the same at OHB. It keeps me motivated when a youth is earning a credit and to see their reaction to their progress.
What are you most proud of during your time at OHB?
I am proud of how I have handled what has been thrown at the school. I started at OHB during the pandemic and have dealt with many different situations in my short time here. I am proud to say that I work for a great organization
All about you…
Where did you grow up/where are you from?
I am from Wayne, America i.e Wayne, Nebraska, home of the annual chicken show.
Who was your most significant influence or mentor as a child?
My Dad, he went through some things but always was there to show me what it meant to be a good person and a hard worker.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I do not have spare time. I have a very active family and am usually at a sports practice or games four to five nights a week. I do coach my oldest son’s baseball team which is a lot of fun.
If you could…
If you could change one event from history (personal or otherwise), what would it be and how would you change it?
Being a history buff I would either go back and try to stop the assassination of JFK or Lincoln, convince Lincoln to not go to the theater or convince JFK to leave the top up.
If you you had a year off with pay what would you do?
I would travel to every MLB baseball stadium with my boys and go to a series of games. Then when I was done with that we’d spend the winter in the mountains.
If you could acquire any super power, what would it be and how would you use it?
Fly of course, this way it wouldn’t take me as long to get to the places I want to go and I could travel anywhere I wanted.

My 9 year old son, no matter what my day has been like this kid knows a way to make me laugh.
