Chants Up at OHB
Coastal Carolina University Visits During College World Series
Few of us at OHB had heard the word Chanticleer, let alone knew what it meant, before the Coastal Carolina University baseball team visited our campus. But after just one afternoon, the Chants had stolen our hearts.

During their off day at the College World Series, known affectionately as the greatest show on dirt, the Coastal Carolina players and coaches spent time getting to know our youth, sharing stories over lunch, signing autographs, and diving into some friendly competition in our rec center.
The visit was full of memorable moments, but one of the highlights came when our youth presented the coaches with custom hats they designed and printed through our all-new Printed with Purpose endeavor. The Chants were thrilled to receive such a meaningful gift. The team’s chaplain even asked youth to personally sign his hat, so he would always remember this special part of his trip to Omaha.

As part of a long-standing tradition, OHB has welcomed a College World Series team to campus for more years than anyone can recall. Each team that qualifies for the Series is hosted by a local civic club to help them feel at home in Omaha. Thanks to the Lion’s Club, we’ve had the honor of being selected as a stop on the teams’ community involvement tour.
“With only eight teams advancing to the CWS, it’s exciting that OHB is chosen year after year to host a team,” shared Brandy Gustoff, Chief Operating Officer at OHB. “Seeing OHB’s name and pictures from the team’s visit on the jumbotron during their games, in front of a crowd of 20,000-plus fans, never gets old.”
This year, the Chants made it all the way to the championship series, riding an incredible 26-game win streak. Though they came up just short of the title, falling to LSU in the finals, they left Omaha—and OHB—as true champions in our eyes.

“We’re grateful to Coastal Carolina for spending part of their CWS journey with us. Their positive energy, respect, and genuine connection with our youth made the day unforgettable,” said Brandy.
The Chants visit to OHB was about so much more than baseball. It was about showing up, giving back, and inspiring the next generation.
Chants up!
P.S. A chanticleer is a proud and fierce rooster!
