Building a Cornerstone of Opportunity

At OHB, we know that lasting change happens when communities come together. In 2024, we made meaningful progress in strengthening those connections by welcoming a record 38 local partners to our campus—more than ever before—maximizing resources, expanding access to vital services for youth and families, and creating a hub of opportunity in North Omaha.

In fact, our Cooper Memorial Farm helped refugee families grow their own food while also welcoming students for hands-on agricultural education. Our baseball field became home to local athletes and our gym provided much-needed practice space for basketball and volleyball players from area schools. Most notably, our swimming pool served as a training site for high school teams and provided over 2,100 children and teens with swim lessons, competition opportunities, and water safety education.

For Jeanie Neal, founder of Face-Up First Swimming, access to the OHB pool has been life-changing—not only for the hundreds of swimmers she teaches each week, but for herself.

“OHB isn’t just any pool—it’s a place where every swimmer, of every age and ability, can thrive,” said Jeanie. “Because of this partnership, foster care families receive free lessons, kids become lifeguards and champions, and a whole community is safer in the water. A domino effect of community well-being, child development, safety, and joy has happened because the OHB pool is being used in such a positive way.”

In addition to hosting competitions and community lessons at the pool, Jeanie also provides swim instruction to OHB youth, something many have never experienced before.

Thank you for making these partnerships possible. Your generosity is strengthening our entire community, one opportunity at a time.
