Bravery and Achievement at County Fairs

This summer, our Valley View 4-H Club youth showcased the hard work and dedication they’ve invested in learning about livestock care and showmanship. The journey to the show ring wasn’t easy, but our youth proved their bravery by competing alongside peers who have far more years of experience in 4-H.
At the Sarpy County Fair and Fremont Cattle Show, our youth truly shined. Despite being newcomers to the competition, they worked tirelessly to ensure their cattle were well cared for. Feeding, watering, and prepping their animals for the ring were all part of the process, and they did it with an incredible work ethic.

At the Sarpy County Fair, Colton took home Reserve Champion Market Heifer, an outstanding achievement, and many others secured top 3 and 4 placements, earning well-deserved recognition.
“Each youth demonstrated exceptional showmanship, particularly impressive for their first time competing,” said Kyla Swartz, Farm Assistant and Skill Developer at OHB.
We are incredibly proud of all our youth. Their accomplishments in the show ring are a testament to their courage, perseverance, and the invaluable lessons they’ve learned through 4-H.
“It has truly been an amazing experience getting to watch these young men work with these animals and learn so much about them,” said Kyla.
